Curriculum And Assessments

Curriculum & Assessments

At Richard McKenna Charter Schools, we are committed to the success of our students—both within and beyond our classrooms. Our curriculum addresses the academic, social, and emotional needs of the whole child.

RMC students graduate well-prepared for success as they continue their education and/or move into the workplace. Learn more about our curriculum by following the links on this page.

Assessments

Our students take a variety of informal and formal assessments throughout the year that help the teachers track the success of their instruction and individualize the learning program.

Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI)
This monthly test for K–6th-grade students measures the students' basic reading ability. The results of the tests help teachers identify which students might need additional instruction and/or reading intervention.

Measure of Academic Progress (MAP)
MAP tests in reading, language arts, and math, track student growth over time. Students in grades 3–12 take the MAP test twice a year—once in the fall and once in the spring. Second-grade students participate in MAP testing each spring to serve as a baseline for their third-grade year.

Idaho Standards Achievement Test (I-SAT)
Idaho Department of Education requires all schools to administer the ISAT each April. Grades 3–8 and 11 take the English language arts and math portions of the test. Grades 5, 8, and 11 also take the science portion. This test measures student (and district) achievement in comparison to other students (and districts) in the state.

State Standards

RMC curriculum meets or exceeds state content standards in all subjects. Learn more about Idaho’s educational standards and assessments.
