Richard McKenna students are eligible to participate in the Parent-Student On-Road Supervised Driving Program. This involves taking an online driver education course through IDLA and completing the in-car portion of driver instruction with a parent. More information about the program can be found here.
1. Obtain a Verification of Compliance (VOC) letter and driver education packet from Ms. Morrison at the district office.
2. Take the VOC to the Elmore County Driver's License Office to be approved for the program and to purchase the permit for the student.
Students must be at least 14 years 6 months to
purchase a permit.
Take the following with you when you purchase the permit:
- Certified state birth certificate
- Social Security Card
- Picture identification
- VOC
3. Once you have the permit, bring it to Ms. Morrison, and she will assist you in enrolling into the IDLA Driver Education Course. The
fee for the course is $75.00.
4. Once enrolled into the IDLA course, please refer to the driver education packet for instructions on completing the driving portion of
the Driver Education course.
